You're not alone. Roughly 70% of all women between the ages of 40 and 55 experience menopause symptoms. Some are mild. Others can be utterly debilitating. Yet they all have one thing in common; they’re triggered by a progressive drop in hormone levels.
Until now many women have struggled to get support and advice on what this change in life means and how to deal with it.
The all new NZ Menopause Support forum allows you to seek support and advice not only from other members, but also from our New Zealand based Menopause experts.
Please share this forum with other women who you think might benefit from some help and support.
Thanks

What does one do when the Pituitary Gland collapses (Empty Sella Syndrome)

According to one of our experts, as far as products go there is nothing that will help with the actual condition itself.
Empty Sella Syndrome is not a functional disorder of the regulation, but the structural damage to the organ. In general, any medication therapy would only address the symptoms. The only correction to such structural damage would be surgical, but since the pituitary gland is in such complex part of the brain, such operation is extremely difficult and dangerous and is almost always ruled out as an option.
What sort of symptoms are you experiencing?

Hot Flushes & chronic night sweats. I have 3 months ago started a Bio Identical Hormone treatment but no joy at this stage. The 1st month was a minor change . The2nd I developed sore breasts sot the 3rd which I have been on for 4 days they changed the estrogen & have been able to cope except for this morning when I woke wet from waist to head incl bed & pillow. Doesn't sound like there is a fix for this problem does it? Regards

Your best bet will be to stick with natural products that will help with symptom management and make you more comfortable.
There are any number of these to choose from, some of which focus on isolated symptoms and some will cover more of a range. Let us know if we can be of any more help on pointing you to options.

Hi, Yes please could you point me in the direction of other options. I will give what I am now taking a good go but so far no miracles & I have to say it is a horrible daunting thought suffering like this the rest of forever. Look forward to hearing back.

Hi Lyn
What supplements are you currently taking? I have had some relief recently from a couple of natural products which I am very pleased with (after 6 years of trying)

Although they will not help the condition itself, temporary symptomatic relief might be found from products that focus on other 'glands' such as the adrenal gland to provide hormonal balance. Red Clover, Black Cohosh and other herbal remedies might provide some relief, or a natural product we have recommended in the past with some success called Amberen is something worth looking in to. www.amberen.co.nz
